Hello Everyone, First, I want to thank all of you who have been following this auction—whether you’ve placed a bid, left a comment, or just taken the time to look at the Scout. I truly appreciate your interest. A little background on the vehicle and how it came into our family: We’re a family of five with three boys (ages 3, 7, and 10). A few years back, we were looking for a unique, vintage, full-convertible 4x4 that could take us from the beach to the mountains together. Broncos felt a bit small, and while we liked the K5 Blazer, it seemed a little too big. After some research, we set our sights on the rarer extended version of the Scout II—the Traveler. Our first Traveler is currently undergoing a frame-off LS-swap restoration that’s almost complete. While searching for that one, I came across this Scout in Tehachapi, CA. The previous owner had rebuilt the motor, painted it, but hadn’t finished the project. It was too good to pass up, so I brought it home, finished putting it together, and it’s been our “fun” family ride ever since. We’ve used it regularly for ice cream runs, school drop-offs, and weekend adventures. It’s been driven to the beach, up to the mountains, and around town—and it always draws smiles, questions, and conversation wherever it’s parked. It’s not a perfect showpiece, but it’s a dependable, classic 4x4 that’s meant to be enjoyed. With our restored “forever” Scout just weeks from coming home, it’s time to pass this one along to someone who will love it as much as we have. If you have any questions or want more details, please feel free to reach out—I’m happy to be as transparent as possible so you can bid with confidence. Thanks again for your interest, and I’m looking forward to seeing where this Scout’s next chapter takes it.
