@Rich1617 – I don't remember the side body below the belt moulding being gray/black. Is that original or painted afterwards? ...
The gray lowers was a factiry option in ‘85 and ‘86, I special ordered my ‘85 GT convertible and did not order the two tone. I believe gray was the only available color to match the Beltline fun strips. My friends ‘86 he bought off the kit did have the gray lowers. My ‘85 was absolutely my favorite car ever, The 302 with a Holly 4 barrel and factory tubular headers and roller cam loves to rev and made decent power almost to redline which I believe was 6 k. Only trouble I ever had was a leaky power valve in the Holley, easily repaired by a great Indy shop for 60 bucks. The later EFI 5.0s made similar power, more torque down low but didn’t like revs like the ‘85 did. T-tops were a pretty rare option in ‘85, my brother had an ‘84 with them and they were leak and squeak free, coming from a 79 Trans Am with the Fisher T-top I found that refreshing. Outstanding car.
Hi. Thanks for your interest. This is original as you can see it continues into the bumper. I believe in some ,repaints,, they painted the bottom half. Car is extremely nice. Carb dialed in. Choke works and starts easy! Thanks for looking! Good luck if bidding.
