This 1959 Chevrolet Series 3100 Apache step-side pickup is a 4-wheel drive example that was the recent recipient of a complete restoration approximately 4 years ago. Power is sent to all four wheels by a 327ci small-block V8 paired with a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission, NP205 transfer case, Dana 44 front axle complete with locking hubs and a 14-bolt rear end. Equipment includes power steering, mechanical brakes and a heater along with upgraded door latches, lifted suspension, aftermarket wheels, a refreshed interior and more. The truck is located in Gladstone, Oregon, and is offered with an Oregon title.
The single cab step side short bed exterior is finished in a respray of Midnight Blue Metallic paint completed 4 years ago. Features include new glass all around, Bear Claw door latches, body-matching windshield visor, and re-chromed brightwork while the fuel tank has been relocated to the underside of the wood-slatted bed.
Power steering has been installed to handle a set of 35-inch Hercules Terra Trac tires fitted in 8-spoke re-chromed aluminum wheels over the mechanical front disc and rear drum brakes. Suspension is standard for the model year with the exception of its increased ride height featuring leaf-sprung 4-wheel-drive axles with shocks front and rear.
The interior has also been restored and comes outfitted in gray vinyl upholstery over the bench seating, headliner, and door panels with black carpeting. Windows are manually cranked and 4-wheel drive and transmission shifting are accomplished manually by way of floor-mounted shifters. A heater and Bluetooth-enabled stereo system are equipped as creature comforts along with working vent windows.
Instrumentation is framed in a custom 3-spoke steering wheel and consists of a triangular 100-mph speedometer along with 3 additional dials for oil pressure, coolant temperature, and battery voltage. 5-digit odometer mileage reads 7,362 but its accuracy is not confirmed to be correct.
Power is provided by a 327ci small-block V8 mated to a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission and NP205 transfer case which was rebuilt approximately 10,000 miles ago. The engine comes complete with an orange finish, finned valve covers and air cleaner, a 4-barrel carburetor and ram horn style exhaust manifolds leading to a dual side-exit exhaust system.
The 4-wheel drive system can be found underneath featuring a Dana 44 front axle complete with Warn locking hubs and a 14-bolt rear end with the NP205 transfer case.
